When you add embroidery to handmade fabrics, the results are spectacular. Raise your garments and accessories to the next level with this exciting journey from the fundamentals of embroidery to the joy of designing and working original designs.

Students will learn and practice an array of stitches and knots; try out different methods of pattern transfer (including cross stitch over waste canvas); play with colors, stitch combinations, and different fibers; and ultimately work towards embellishing their project of choice with a design of their own devising. Whatever your current passion—knitting, crochet, weaving—this workshop is for you.

No prior embroidery experience is necessary, but the completion of two homework swatches will be required.

Materials fee: $20 to cover the cost of special supplies to be provided by the instructor.
