Design your own Fair Isle sweater
Camp STITCHES - Destination Coeur d'Alene
For Janine Bajus, it all started in 1964 with the gift of a colorful Fair Isle cardigan from Shetland. Today playing with color remains the theme of her fiber life, and she teaches workshops introducing others to the joys of modern Fair Isle knitting. To quote her book, The Joy of Color: Fair Isle Knitting Your Way, “Her goal is to provide the information that people need to knit their own stranded garments, whether traditional or wild, subdued or saturated, from a pattern or self-designed.” Janine lives in Berkeley, California, surrounded by books and fiber.
You must have experience with 2-color stranded knitting (or be willing to practice before the workshop), and you must have completed a sweater or vest (of any kind).
The infinite color possibilities in Fair Isle knitting can be intimidating!
