Design Your Own Fair Isle Vest
Camp STITCHES - Destination New Mexico 2018

Fair Isle banded designs offer limitless opportunities for playing with color and motif, and when the bands are stacked on top of each other, they create new and unexpected pattern relationships. Banded designs can be bright or subtle, playful or sophisticated, traditional or very personal. Even better: they can be easy to put together!

In this workshop I’ll show you a speedy and playful way to choose colors based on your color inspiration. Then you’ll pick your yarn from 212 shades of Jamieson’s Spindrift and begin your speed swatches to see how the colors work together. Next I’ll show you how to place your colors into your motifs. Finally, you’ll learn how to place your motifs into the classic V-neck vest pattern template I provide. I’ll also cover steeking, adding bands, and increasing/decreasing in pattern.

Materials Fee: $40
