Camp STITCHES Couer d’ Alene visit Rose Butte Ranch

Scott Walker is head rancher at Rose Butte, and Katrina is head shepherdess of the Spoiled Sheep flock. Katrina's Studio, filled with textiles, art, and inspiration, is home to sewing expert and STITCHES instructor Katrina Walker. This part of our visit provides a shopping opportunity as well; you’ll find Spoiled Sheep Yarn and other locally produced yarn and goodies for sale.

The Fleece Shed houses the sheared fleece. Learn how fleece is harvested and processed into roving and yarn in a wide range of natural colors. Fibers First owner/processor Karen Goodson, a well-known local hand spinner and processor for the Spoiled Sheep Yarn, will be your host. She is expert at working with all types of fiber so there will be opportunities to skirt a fleece and possibly even spin.

Come to the big red barn to meet the Spoiled Sheep. Scott will be on hand to distribute sheep treats and introduce you to the flock. This diverse, multicolored flock (especially the fluffy Pygora goats!) loves visitors. For the best up-close photo opportunities, you might want to wear boots.

On Saturday afternoon, Campers take a break to explore the shops, walk along the lake, or visit Rose Butte Ranch. Our friend Katrina Walker and husband Scott live a beautiful hour’s drive from Coeur d’Alene and have invited us to see her studio and visit her Spoiled Sheep!
