Welcome to the STITCHES Online Registration System. We've endeavored to make the online registration system as easy to use as possible. But if you're having trouble using the features of the STITCHES registration screens or just have some questions, we've provided detailed registration instructions in this online help.

The STITCHES Online Registration System approaches registration like a true database driven system should -- keeping track of all of the details of your selections so you can concentrate on choosing your classes and events. And just like a database should, it includes the ability to search and view (to sort and search for) classes and events in several ways in the main Classes listings pages and STITCHES Events listing page.
The STITCHES Classes SEARCH on the Classes Listings pages feature will allow you to search for classes by full or partial class name, class description and/or teacher name (shown in the screen shot below).
You can combine your search criteria with a class time using the pull-down menu to the right of the search field (shown to the left).
Once you have your search criteria entered in the SEARCH field, click the GO button to execute your search.
For instance if you type in: finishing Solomon and then select Sunday Morning from the pull down menu you will get Class #212, Sweater Finishing by Leslye Solomon schedule on Sunday, 8:30 am to 11:30 am (shown in the screen shot below).
To find out more about a class, click on the class in the Classes list to go to a detail page about that class. A small icon in the listing means that there is a picture of the class project on that class's details page.
To sort Classes by either Class #, Hours, Class Name, Teacher, or Time, click on the header bars on the main Classes page to reorder the classes accordingly.
You will see or in the selected header depending on how you choose to sort the class listings. (Note: the default sort for class is by Date/Time and then by Teacher.)
The STITCHES Events SEARCH feature on the Events listing page will allow you to search for events by full or partial name, teacher (if applicable), time and/or price of event. Click the GO button on the SEARCH bar to execute your search (shown in the screen shot below).
To find out more about an event, click on the event in the Events list to go to a detail page about that event.
Throughout the web interface there are help icons (see the icon to the left) that will produce modal dialog boxes giving you additional information about how to use the various features of each screen. Since these dialog help screens are modal, you will need to click the OK button at the bottom or the X in the upper right corner in these dialog boxes to dismiss them so you can continue with your registration.
SOLD OUT classes and events will appear in the main screens unless you check the 'hide sold out classes/events' option in either of the search bars.
To move between screens you can use the various buttons at the top of each of the registration windows. If you want to view previous screens (showing your search results) you can use the back button in your browser or the Back button (shown to the left) in the upper left corner of the browser window.
There is a top event banner graphic on each page (see the STITCHES South 2009 example image below). Clicking on this graphic will open a new browser window to that event's main portal page where you can learn more about the special events and the venue that you are registering for.
Using the new STITCHES Online Registration System means registration is live. Once your check out is complete and your credit card has been charged, your classes and/or events will be confirmed unless they have sold out during your registration process.
Important Note: The new system does not allow for the registration of more than one attendee at a time. So if you're registering for classes and/or events for several people you will need to complete the registration process for one attendee before moving on to the next.
Cookies must be enabled on your browser for our shopping cart system to work. Please don't close or quit your browser during the registration process or your shopping cart will be emptied (and you will have to start again).
The STITCHES Online Registration System is secure and will process your credit card using Authorize.Net.
This system has been tested on many browsers and operating systems including Internet Explorer, FireFox, and Safari on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS 10.4, and Mac OS 10.5. For best results we recommend using the newest version of FireFox on either Windows XP (or higher) or Mac OS 10.4 (or higher).
For those of you who are web savvy and just want a quick run down of how the STITCHES Online Registration System works, we thought we'd give you this Quick Start so you can get a general idea of what you need to do (and when) and then get back to registering for your classes and events.
The first thing to know is that we don't need to know about you until you've finished selecting your classes and events. So let's start there...
a. If you're starting with one of the Packages, click on the Events & Packages button, you can add all the applicable events by selecting one of the packages in the Packages list.
b. If you're not starting with one of the Packages, click on either the Class Catalog button to select classes and/or the Events & Packages button to select events. You can add an event or class inside the event detail page or the class detail page.
c. Each time you add a class or event you will be taken to the My Schedule page to review your choices.
d. If you find that you have conflicts, you can remove those conflicts in the My Schedule page.
e. You can add additional event tickets in the My Schedule page before you Check Out.
f. Once you're finished selecting your classed and events, you will click on the Check Out button at the bottom of the My Schedule page.
g. You will then need to Creat a STITCHES Events Account. This is where we'll start to ask you questions about yourself.
h. Follow the account creation screens until you are given the choice to Check Out or review the items in your My Schedule page.
i. Review your information and enter your Credit Card information on the second Checkout screen.
j. If you've signed up for any events that include a meal, make sure you note any dietary requirements (i.e. vegetarian meals or allergies) you might have on second Checkout screen.
k. Continue on through your final checkout - reviewing your choices before you commit to the final purchase of your items.
l. In the event that you find a mistake before you commit to the final purchase, return to your My Schedule page to remove items or to the Class listing or Event listings to add additional items.
m. If you find that one of your items has Sold Out during the registration process (which can happen during the first few days of a STITCHES Event registration opening), you can return to your My Schedule page and make other choices.
n. Wait while your Credit Card is processed and then view your confirmation on in your browser window. Please print a copy of this before you close your browser window.
o. In the event you've made a mistake after you've committed to the final purchase, please contact customer service by phone for assistance.
If you understand these steps you can proceed back to the main STITCHES Online Registration screen and finish registering for this STITCHES event.
To view the class listings from any screen, click on the Class Catalog button (shown to the left).
To add that class to your shopping cart, click the Add Class to button on the Class Details page (shown to the left).
To return to the main listing of Classes (from any screen), click on the Class Catalog button (shown to the left).
To see to the list of events from any screen, click on the Events & Packages button (shown to the left).
To view details about an event click on the event in the Events list view.
To add that event to your shopping cart, click the Add Special Event button on the Event Details page (shown to the left).
You can also choose to add additional event tickets using Qty pull-down menu before you click on the Add Special Event button.
To return to the main page of Events (from any screen), click on the Events & Packages button (shown to the left).
You may want to take advantage of the reduced pricing for classes and events by choosing either The Works or Almost the Works packages. If so, the STITCHES Online Registration System has been designed to give you a quick start for those packages.
To start with one of these packages, click on the Events & Packages button (see the screen shot below).
This will take you to the STITCHES Events and Packages screen. Scroll down to the bottom of this screen where the two package options are listed (see the screen shot below).
For the sake of explaining the process, we'll go through selecting the Almost the Works package.
In the Packages list view, you'll click on the Almost the Works listing (see the screen shot above).
This will open the Almost the Works (Package) details page (see the screen shot below).
Both The Works package and the Almost the Works package include The Opening Day Program & Luncheon on Thursday, The Fashion Show & Dinner on Friday evening, and The Student Banquet & Student Fashion Show on Saturday evening.
The details page (see the screen shot above) includes information about how many hours are needed for the package as well as links for more information about each of the events included in the packages.
Once you've clicked the Add Events for Package button, you will be taken to the My Schedule page (see the screen shot below) so you can review your selections.
This page will show that you have now added all of the events for the Almost the Works package. It will also show you (in Red) how many class hours are needed in order to complete the Almost the Works package and take advantage of this package's pricing.
Note: If you've already added classes to your schedule, they will appear in the My Schedule page, and the class hours total will show just above the dollar total on the page. Once those Class Hours total 18 with these events in your schedule, you will qualify for the Almost The Works package pricing and you can proceed to Check Out.
Now that the events for the selected package have been added, you need to return to the Classes listings to select classes (hours) to finish out our package. To do this, click on the Class Catalog button (see the screen shot above).
Once you're back in the Classes listings you can navigate through the listings (using the search features) and select your classes. After you add each class, you return to the My Schedule page to check to see if you have the classes you want, the hours you're looking for, and/or any conflicts.
At this point you can also choose to add additional event tickets right in the My Schedule view by using the using Qty pull-down menu (shown in the screen shot below).
The totals will be updated automatically after you modify the number of event(s) tickets.
The Schedule (in the screen shot below) is an example of the events and classes needed to take advantage of the Almost the Works package as well as an extra Student Banquet & Student Fashion Show ticket. Note that the Class Hours total 18 and that there is a new Package Price total. You will also see the amount of dollars you saved by qualifying for the package in this example.
If your schedule looks something like this (see the screen shot below) - - without any conflicts - - and you're happy with the classes and events in your schedule you can proceed directly to Check Out.
Each time you add a class, an event, or a package, you will automatically return to the My Schedule page so you can review your choices and check for conflicts.
To view your shopping cart at any time, click on the View My Schedule button (shown to the left).
If you have already added classes or events to your schedule, this button will appear with a yarn basket indicating there are items in your shopping cart (shown to the left).
The STITCHES Online Registration System is designed to keep you from registering for classes or events that conflict with each other. After you've added a class or event, you will automatically be taken to your Schedule.
If you've added a class that overlaps with one you have already chosen, you will see a notification (in RED) at the top of the screen explaining the conflict (see the screen shot below).
At the same time, the Check Out button will be grayed out (shown in the screen shot above), indicating that the system will not let you proceed until you resolve the conflict.
To resolve the conflict, select one of the conflicting classes and click on the remove (shown in the screen shot below) link at the right hand side of the screen. The screen will automatically refresh and allow you to Check Out if you're finished registering.
The Event conflicts work in just the same way. There are only two conflicts that can occur with events - Opening Day/Opening Day and Luncheon and Fashion Show/Fashion Show & Dinner Ticket (shown in the screen shot below).
Since the STITCHES Online Registration System is designed to register one attendee at a time, it is not possible for one attendee to register for both the Opening Day program (without the luncheon) and the Opening Day program with the Luncheon or the Fashion Show (without the dinner) and the Fashion Show with the Dinner. In order to proceed, you will have to remove one of the conflicting events from your schedule before you can Check Out.
Once you've removed the event(s) conflicts, the screen will automatically refresh and allow you to Check Out if you're finished registering.
If you're not finished registering, you can click on the Back to Class Catalog button to view and select more classes or you can click on the Events & Packages button to view and select additional events (both buttons are shown below).
Using the same Almost the Works package example (that we used above), let's go through the Check Out process.
Once you're happy with what's in your schedule and have removed any conflicts before you proceed, click the Check Out button at the bottom of the My Schedule page (see the screen shot below).
This will take you the STITCHES Events Account Login screen (see the next section) to create a STITCHES Events Account.
Once you're happy with the items in you My Schedule page and click the Check Out button (shown in the screen shot above) you will be taken to the Login screen (see the screen shot below).
Clicking on the Create a STITCHES Events Account link on this page (shown above) will open up the Create as STITCHES Events Account page (shown in the screen shot below).
This is the screen (shown in the screen shot below) that you will have to create a user name, create a password (and confirm it) enter your Attendee/Shipping information, and enter your billing information (specific to the Credit Card you are planning to use when checking out) to create your STITCHES Events Account.
When you've entered all of your Attendee and Billing information in the required fields (and you'll be notified on screen if you haven't) and then click the Submit button (shown in the screen shot above) you'll be notified that you've successfully created your account when the Create as STITCHES Events Account page (above) is replaced with the Account Created window (shown in the screen shot below).
You now have a choice. You can click the Review My Schedule button to go back and look at your My Schedule page or you can proceed to the final check out process by clicking the Continue with Check Out button (shown in the screen shot above).
Now that you've finished reviewing the items in you My Schedule page and /or have proceeded to the final check out screens by clicking the Continue with Check Out button in the Account Created window (shown in the screen shot above), you will be taken to the first of the final three Check Out screens (shown in the screen shot below).
In this first Check Out screen (shown in the screen shot above) you will need to do the following...
Once you've finished entering this information, click the Check Out button (shown in the screen shot above).
You will now be able to review your order and your information again in the Review Order window (the second Check Out window, shown in the screen shot below).
From the Review Order window you can still edit your Attendee Information, Billing Address, and the items in you're My Schedule page (shown in the screen shot above) using the edit links.
Please take a few minutes to review all of your information and your class/events choices before you click the final Check Out button.
Assuming that you've checked your order and information on the Review Order window, you're ready to finish your order by clicking the Check Out button (shown in the screen shot above). This will take you to the final Receipt page (shown in the screen shot below), confirming that your credit card has been charged and that you have successfully registered for your class and event choices.
This receipt is confirmation that you have the class/classes and/or event/events that you have signed up for.
Please print a copy of your receipt (as shown in this example receipt above) for your own records.
If you call into STITCHES Customer Service for help or questions about your order, please have the Order # (shown at the top of the Receipt) for reference.
As we've already stated, the STITCHES Online Registration System is a live registration system. That means that class and event inventory (the number of attendees set for a particular class or event) is reduced each time a customer registers for a class or event. Once the inventory level is reached the class or event will show up as SOLD OUT within the classes listings or events listings (as shown in the screen shot below).
If you click on a class or event that is SOLD OUT, you will go to a class or event details page where you will see a grayed out button that shows that the event is SOLD OUT (shown to the left).
Note: it is possible for a class or event to sell out during the registration process - especially during the first few days an event registration is opened.
If you would like to be placed on the Waiting List for a SOLD OUT class or event, please contact customer service.
When you register for classes and/or events using the STITCHES Online Registration System, you will receive immediate confirmation with your homework in your browser once your credit card is charged if all of the events and/or classes are available.
You will still receive a final confirmation and schedule information via e-mail and regular mail about six weeks before the actual event.
Hotel registration and directions to a STITCHES event can be found through main STITCHES Events web page. Simply go to http://KnittingUniverse.com/Events/ and then click on the Event (i.e. STITCHES West, STITCHES South, STITCHES Midwest, or STITCHES East). You will see a link for Hotel information and directions to the event on this page.
Our cancellation policy for STITCHES events are date specific. You can see the exact dates and cancellation deadlines through the main STITCHES Events web page. Simply go to http://KnittingUniverse.com/Events/ and click on the Event (i.e. STITCHES West, STITCHES South, STITCHES Midwest, or STITCHES East). You will see a link for our Cancellation Policy on this page.
