Announcing the Winners of the We Care Raffle...
We Care Quilt
We Care Sampler Quilt
Just two weeks before STITCHES Texas, many caring people combined their talents, and we launched the We Care campaign.
We Care Afghan
25 unique squares, 21 pairs of talented hands—STITCHES Texas teachers joined together to create this one-of-a-kind afghan in Trendsetter Yarns’ Merino VI yarn. Knit and crochet blocks contributed by Denise Bell, Lorilee Beltman, Steven Berg, Anne Berk, Gwen Bortner, JC Briar, Laura Bryant, Lily Chin, Edie Eckman, Candace Eisner Strick, Nicky Epstein, Deborah Jarchow, Barry Klein, Shannon and Jason Mullett-Bowlsby, Sarah Peasley, Stacey Trock, Beth Whiteside, Myra Wood, and Anna Zilboorg.
When the Shibaguyz heard about what we were trying to do, they went all in. Not only did they contribute to the We Care Afghan, they decided to double down with an afghan of their own for this raffle.

Fiber-themed drawing in ink and color washes
Franklin Habit, a frequent member of the STITCHES Events line-up and the author of "It Itches: A Stash of Knitting Cartoons" and "I Dream of Yarn: A Knit and Crochet Coloring Book," is creating a one-of-a-kind, original, fiber-themed drawing in ink and color washes as a We Care Exclusive (please see his work-in-progress to the right).

Jennifer Stern-Hasemann and Katrina Walker are new to our world, bringing their sewing and quilting talents to the STITCHES events. When our call went out to the teachers for knit and crocheted squares, they also wanted to be part of it. This stunning original take on the Texas flag is the result! The dedication “Our hearts go out to Texas” is embroidered on the back.
When Mary Beth Pfeiffer heard about the making of the We Care Quilt, she was inspired to go to her digital drawing board and produce 10 embroidery motifs. Her ideas grew into an amazing machine-embroidered, pieced, and quilted wall hanging.
