The STITCHES East 2007 Challenge
Knit or Crochet a Cap or a Pair of Socks
for Children in Common

STITCHES East 2007 is proud to join forces with Baltimore’s own Children in Common charity. Children in Common sends warm hand knits to orphans in Eastern Europe and Russia. STITCHES attendees are invited to bring items or join the knit-in on The Market floor on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Children in Common’s most current knitting effort is called OK (Orphan Knitting).Knitted items are collected and delivered to orphanages in Easter Europe for children from six months to sixteen years of age.
The folks from Children in Common will be joining XRX, Inc., and thousands of avid knitters at STITCHES East, October 12-14. And we would like to invite you to participate in the STITCHES East 2007 Children in Common OK drive and knit-in.
Here’s how you can help…
Knit-N-Bring: Using any sock or cap pattern and any natural fiber, knit or crochet your garment(s) and bring them to the STITCHES East 2007 Market. Donations will be accepted at Booth # 89 (at the entrance to The Market).
You can download a Classic Socks pattern and a Welt-Stitch Hat pattern in PDF format.
Link-n-Loop: Get a friend involved by telling them about this effort. Send them the link (below) and challenge them to get the word out about this effort for Children in Common.

Sit-And-Knit: Grab your needles, and sit-and-knit with us. Tables will be setup inside the market entrance with patterns and yarn, donated by our generous sponsors (see the sponsors’ logos below).
No matter how you want to participate… we’ll help you.
“…these donations are not only meant to clothe the children in these orphanages, but there is love knitted into every one.”
