Totally Tubular with Patty Lyons
A tubular edge makes a lovely start or end to your project. Create professional looking cuffs, hems, and edges for your hats, gloves and more. In this workshop we'll learn the tubular cast on for 1 x 1 and 2 x 2 rib. We’ll also look at working the tubular bind off with a knitting needle (no more tapestry needle!). To top it off we'll explore some other start and ends to ribbing that creates stretchy, invisible and beautiful edges and we'll even learn a special cast on just for gauge swatches. Explore the wonders these special cast on and bind offs.Note: Must know the long-tail cast-on (in slingshot position), how to knit and purl, and have familiarity with stitch anatomy. Supplies
Worsted or chunky NON splitty yarn in LIGHT COLOR. Needle appropriate for yarn, and 2 double pointed needles appropriate to yarn. Optional: Crochet hooks in G or H, thin crochet cotton. Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
