Opening Day and Lunch with Anna Zilboorg
In her daily knitting, Anna draws on colors, patters, textures, and
techniques from around the globe--Turkish socks, Latvian mittens,
Austrian traveling stitches, Aran cables.Using an approach she calls 'making on the fly', Anna builds strips of texture, connects them as she goes, changes color and pattern at will, adds embroidery, until she's created a splendid sweater, blanket, or vest. Whether the stitches have traveled from Armenia or Bavaria, via English stitch dictionaries or Japanese charts, they come together on her needles. After a morning of inspiration and information, join your teachers for a speed-dating, meet-the-teachers luncheon. |
