Intuitive Chart Reading—Lace with Cookie Apichairuk
Learn how to read lace charts intuitively. We'll talk about lace and lace chart symbols then practice working from sample charts. Learn to see the connection between charts and the resulting knitting, how to read your knitting to determine where you are within a chart, various types of chart symbols (including Japanese), and how to read lace charts without a key. We'll also talk about the mysterious 'no-stitch' symbol and why it's used, how to handle stitch patterns with changing stitch counts, and how to deal with 'bad' charts. Supplies
#4 (worsted-weight) yarn and 4.5mm/US 7 needles.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
