Silver Linings with Lorna Miser
Learn innovative techniques for knitting and lining purses and totes. No sewing machine or felting required. Learn to use fusible adhesives, ready-made canvas totes, quilting fabrics, and fabric glues to accomplish this. Examples of zipped, buttoned, snapped, tied, and flapped closures will be displayed. Also learn ways to make your own handles and all the tips for sturdy, stylish bags. You will complete a purse in class.
Material fee: $10.

Supplies
A "fat quarter" of cotton fabric (18" x 22") or piece of fabric that is larger than your homework rectangle that matches your swatch and one decorative button or snap, zipper or tassel.

Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.

Homework
Knit a rectangle using ANY yarn in ANY pattern stitch.  The size should be a minimum of 6" x  12". Keep in mind that this pieces, folded, becomes your purse so knit the proportions accordingly. Also bring a "fat quarter" of cotton fabric (18" x 22") or piece of fabric that is larger than your homework rectangle that matches your swatch and one decorative button or snap, zipper or tassel.  Please have rectangle knit before class in order to fully participate in sample project.
