Embellish It Knits with Myra Wood
Embellishing is a fast and fun way to add a little magic to your finished knit or crochet pieces. Discover how to turn a plain garment or handbag into wearable art. Learn freestyle embroidery stitches, ruffles, duplicate stitching, knitted appliques, and beading techniques to enhance and embellish your work. Supplies
8 to 10 balls or mini skeins of 5 yards or more each of coordinating smooth #2 and #4 (fingering and worsted-weight) yarns; 3.75, 4.5, and 5mm/US 5, 7, and 8 straight or circular needles; two 4.5mm/US 7 dpns; and 2 yarn needles.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
Knit a 6-inch square of stockinette fabric with #4 (worsted-weight) yarn on 4.5mm/US 7 needles. Optional: Bring a finished sweater or knitted item you want to embellish.
