Beyond Basic Buttons with Christine Bylsma
Can't find the perfect buttons? Great! You can create many different types of buttons and closures. Covered, woven, balled, fringed, finger-cording knots, and swirls-explore them all plus half-a-dozen unexpected closure options. You will even learn to rethink how and when to use basic buttons.
Supplies
Several stash, sock, and ribbon-type yarns for playing; swatching yarn and a variety of needle and crochet hook sizes. Optional: a few big, odd buttons.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
Work a 5" x 5" stockinette swatch in the yarn of your choice.
