Expand your bead-knitting techniques while making a mini-version of this beautiful Byzantine Gold evening bag from Knitter's Magazine Summer 2007. We'll work a versatile, bead-knitted cast-on and bind-off you can also use to make straps, belts, and jewelry or embellish knitted projects of all kinds. You'll also learn an easy new technique for weaving beads into a project AFTER the knitting is complete. Get a fabulous, bead-knitted look without pre-stringing or stopping your knitting to place individual beads!Materials fee: $20. Supplies
3.75mm/US 5 straight (these make the cast on and bind off techniques easier) AND circular needles (if you prefer to work on them for the rest of the plain knitting we'll do.) Also bring needles a size or two smaller if you knit loosely.Materials Fee: $20 (2 fibers, glass beads, and beading needle). Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
