Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
Swatch 1 With light colored DK weight yarn and appropriate needles, CO 10 sts. Row 1 (RS) K1, place marker (pm), k3, pm, k2, pm, k3, pm, k1. Row 2 (WS) Purl across. Leave stitches on needle and bring to class.
Swatch 2 With light colored DK weight yarn and appropriate needles for yarn, CO 16 sts. Row 1 (P2, k2) to end. Repeat Row 1 seven more times, working a total of 8 rows. Leave stitches on needle and bring to class.
