The Ins and Outs of Knit One Below with Elise Duvekot
Knit One Below is an exciting way for knitters to combine colors, weights, fibers, and types of yarn into versatile fabrics. The technique alternates one simple action, working into the stitch one row below the stitch on the needle, with a knit or a purl.
Elise opens up her bag of Knit-One-Below tricks and offers a sampling of techniques. You will create a bag of your own as you learn a variety of increases and decreases, incorporate cables and traveling stitches into multi-directional patterns, create no-sew seams, add ruffles, and practice working Knit One Below in circles. All of these skills can also be applied to other forms of knitting, providing you with useful tools to get creative and design your own projects. In the end, you will go home with a bag showcasing all that you have learned.
Smooth, #4 (worsted-weight) yarns in at least 2 contrasting, solid colors; dpns and/or circular needles in a size appropriate for the yarn; 2 cable needles.
