Slip-Stitch Savvy with Kathy Zimmerman
Slip-stitch color patterns use only one color per row, making colorwork easy — ideal for both beginners and more experienced knitters. Kathy will discuss how-to's for working this technique, hints for choosing colors and yarns, as well as tips for interpreting instructions. The class project is a sampler of pattern stitches in which one basic stitch pattern is altered in 7 different ways.
100 yds #4 (worsted-weight) yarn in each of 3 contrasting colors; 5 or 5.5mm/US 8 or 9 needles; row counter.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
