Lining à la Chanel with Jean Frost
Coco Chanel developed a special way to line her beautiful jackets. You
will learn these lining techniques step by step. You will leave the
class with the skills needed to line jackets in this manner. A lined
jacket is a masterpiece and a joy to wear. Learn how to assemble, sew in
a lining, and finish a jacket in the same manner in which Chanel
couture garments are made. Get hands-on experience in lining and
finishing your jacket like a pro! Note: For your planning purposes class begins on Saturday afternoon and continues on Sunday morning Supplies
Yarn the jacket is knit with to assemble the jacket, 2 yards of silky lining (more if you are a larger size), sewing thread to match and contrast, sewing needles and pins, scissors to cut fabric. The jacket pieces should be blocked and unassembled.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Choose a Chanel style jacket pattern for your project. Knit the pieces of the jacket. You must bring at least a front, the back and ESPECIALLY a sleeve
