Swing into Style with Jane Slicer-Smith
With Jane as your guide, learn the basics of shaping A-line and swing coats, understand garment structure, and make smart color and styling choices.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
Knit 3 gauge swatches in same yarn as follows:
For each cast on 24 sts and work 2 rows in k1, p1 rib.
Swatch 1: On medium size needle, work 20 rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off.
Swatch 2: On smaller needle, work 20 rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off.
Swatch 3: On larger needles, work 20 rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off.
Note: If it is your habit to use a smaller or larger needle to achieve correct
tension apply this to needle choice when swatching.
