Design Your Own Triangle Shawl with Brooke Nico
Learn the ins and outs of designing with lace patterns. Discuss several ways of shaping a simple triangle shawl. Graph out a lace pattern in the body of the shawl, adding repeats in the most effective and aesthetic way as the shawl grows.Note: Must be familiar with basic knitting including yarn overs and decreases and comfortable working with charts. Supplies
Smooth, light-colored, wool yarn (fingering or sport weight), 3.75, 4, or 7mm/US 5, 6, or 7 needles, pencil, paper. Optional: your favorite lace stitchionary. Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
