Connect the Shapes Crochet Motifs with Edie Eckman
Sure, it's fun to make granny squares and other crocheted shapes, but what to do with them? Learn techniques and planning strategies to turn individual shapes into finished projects with a minimum of fuss. Get hands-on practice with freeform, "planned freeform," and a variety of geometric options. This is a hands-on class that's sure to get your creative juices flowing!Supplies
At least two colors of smooth, #3 (sport/DK) or #4 (worsted-weight) yarn (yarn used for homework); hooks in sizes appropriate for the yarn; Scotch tape.Homework
Bring at least 5 multicolored crocheted motifs made in sport- or worsted-weight yarn, in at least 3 different shapes (squares, circles, hexagons, etc.) Make and cut out 2 black-and-white photocopies of each motif. (You can put them on the copier or scanner and copy them in batches, then cut out the individual pieces.) The motifs can be swatches that you made for other projects, but you may want to consider making them in coordinating colors. Use "Connect the Shapes Crochet Motifs" or "Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs" if you need inspiration.
