Intro to Entrelac with Margaret Fisher
Entrelac knitting creates a fabric with a wonderful basket weave or quilted appearance. Although it looks complex, the knitting is easy and lots of fun to do. In this class, you will create an entrelac sampler as you learn all the steps of this fascinating technique. Class discussion will cover the use of entrelac in garments and accessories, and the effects achieved with various types of yarn.
Supplies
2 balls of smooth, #4 (worsted-weight) yarn in contrasting colors and appropriate-size needles.Optional: yarns of other fibers and colors (partial balls of leftover yarn are fine). Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
