Intarsia allows a knitter to create motifs, stripes and geometric shapes in any direction, controlling fabulous color effects. Intarsia is fun when done efficiently and this class will teach you the techniques, tricks and tips to de-mystify the process. Class project is a bag which can be felted. Students will have the choice of three charted motifs, or they can design their own.
Supplies
At least 50 yards of 2 contrasting colors, 100 yards of main color, and small amount of any accent colors desired. Straight or circular needles are needed in the appropriate size for your yarn (size 8 or 9 US recommended for 100% worsted weight wool). We will be working flat knitting.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
