Miters and the Magic of Moving Stitches with Barry Klein
Miters can be used to create boxes, rectangles and diamonds by increasing or decreasing the number of stitches you are working. During class you will create the first section of your piece. Then discover how to add to the piece by picking up stitches along one side, along two sides or all the way around (to create frame). We will learn about the placement of increase or decrease stitches to make the various miter shapes, and you will learn how to continue to expand the piece until it is completed. Course work will include conversations regarding color and yarn choice. We will play with fashion yarns, classic yarns and textures and how to make them dance around on your garment or accessory piece. This class is perfect for the creative knitter.
