Fiendishly Difficult Stitches with Merike Saarniit
Yes, these are stitches for the adventurous knitter! Explore unusual stitch manipulations that create exotic fabrics. We'll look at what can designate a stitch as 'difficult' and find ways to understand and create those stitches efficiently.
Supplies
Smooth, #4 (worsted-weight), light-colored yarn; 4, 4.5 or 5mm/US 6, 7 or 8 needles (pointier ones like Addi Lace, Bryspun, or Knitpicks Options make working these stitches easier).Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
Optional: For possible discussion, bring a stitch pattern you've found that you would consider Fiendishly Difficult and include source information (book or pattern the stitch was found in).
