Really? A whole class about gauge? Yes. Gauge really IS that important, and this class will tell you why. Learn to make a proper gauge swatch, measure it accurately, and use what it tells you to make a garment that actually fits. Blocking and successful yarn substitution will also be discussed.
Supplies
50 grams smooth, light-colored, #4 (worsted-weight) yarn; 4.5mm/US 7 straight or circular needles; a needle gauge; a calculator; a tape measure or ruler (or both, if you have them); 2 stitch markers, pencil and paper.Homework
OPTIONAL: With #4 (worsted-weight) yarn and size 4.5mm/US 7 needles, cast on 31 stitches. Knit 3 rows (garter stitch border). Rows 1-40 K4, [yo, p2tog, k1] to last 3 stitches, k3. Knit 3 rows (garter stitch border). Bind off loosely. Cut yarn.
