Estonian Stitches Sampler Cowl with Merike Saarniit
When is a swatch more than a swatch? When swatching a baker's dozen of unusual Estonian textured/manipulated stitches edged with an elegant and useful selvage treatment (some say worth the price of admission alone), knit flat, and your swatch results in a lovely head warmer or cowl. Add a crown and you have a hat. Stitches have been adapted from several old Estonian stitch libraries.
Supplies
4oz/100 gm of a next-to-the-skin soft #4 (worsted-weight) yarn; needles in a size appropriate for the yarn, pointy tips work best for manipulating stitches.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
None
