Nifty Shaping: Stitch Patterns Savvy with Faina Goberstein
We will explore different stitch patterns and see examples of how to use them to shape a garment or any small project without decreasing or increasing stitches. Examples will be shown to illustrate this technique. Hats, cowls, small bags and gloves will be discussed as a potential projects for this innovative technique. During class, make a sampler with stitch patterns and sketch a design in which these stitch patterns will be used. In addition, change of needle sizes will be used to shape even more without making traditional calculations. Supplies
2 or 3 balls of #3 or #4 (DK or worsted weight) yarn and set of different size needles, gauge ruler, notebook, pencil, and calculator.Homework
