Short Row Bust Darts with Lily Chin
Take a look at how darts can improve the fit of your knits, even if you're not buxom. Learn how to translate this shaping technique from sewing terms to knitting. Learn how to place it correctly—how much to add and where-and how to do it in a patterned stitch.

Supplies
Another 2 colors of same weight yarn as the homework, tape measure very thin masking tape, SQUARE graph paper (about 6 boxes per inch), pencils (preferably in a few colors), and eraser.

Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.

Homework
With worsted weight or chunky yarn and appropriate needles, cast on 42 sts. Work in garter stitch for about 4 or 6 rows, then work in stockinette stitch for 2 or 3 rows, end ready to work a knit-side row.
