Design Your Dream Sweater: Beyond the Basics with Leslye Solomon
If you've taken Design Your Dream Sweater in the past, you may want to continue adding to your knowledge of sweater designing by going beyond the basics. Practice the easy-to-learn tricks to map every stitch and row of two versions of a sleeve cap. Learn how to create a fitted look by shaping from the hips to the waist. Be able to map an asymmetrical bottom edge. Learn how easy it is to design a lapel or shawl collar and gain confidence in choosing colors and mixing various fibers together to create your own fabric design. Discuss planning knit and purl or color-pattern repeats, and how to plan a sculptural Aran-style sweater, intarsia design, and plaids.
Note: Must have taken Design Your Dream Sweater (331-3) sometime previously.

Supplies
A bright-colored (red or green) pencil with an eraser; calculator, straight edge, optional pictures of sweaters the student would like to be able to recreate.

Homework
None.
Remember: you must have attended Design Your Dream Sweater (331-3) before taking this class. No exceptions.
