Tradition! with Candace Eisner Strick
Tradition can be as precarious as a fiddler on the roof, but when you know a few traditional techniques and styles, you can make a plain sweater sing. Learn the Channel Island cast-on, Fair Isle corrugated rib, Latvian braids, Shetland Lace, and Norwegian lice.Supplies
Small amounts of #4 (worsted-weight) yarn in different colors and needles appropriate for the yarn.Side note about yarn: Because you will be learning new techniques, please bring a nice quality yarn, preferably smooth, light-colored wool. Cotton, acrylic, etc have no give, and it is easier and more enjoyable to learn when not fighting with an uncooperative yarn! Please e-mail me at Candace@strickwear.com with any questions. Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Homework
