Color Fantasia with Laura Bryant
Sign on for a fun-filled adventure with a colorful knitter, Laura Bryant. Drawing on Laura's expertise in color and hand-dyed yarns, spend two days immersed in a color-filled world. Specific exercises to tune your eyes and get you seeing color in new ways lead to hours working hands-on with color through knitting or crochet. Along the journey, you'll pick up tricks on how to contrast and blend colors, how to make luminous color stories or enhance stitch work and how to turn hand-dyed yarns into dazzling self-patterns. You'll learn to coax the inherent beauty out of any yarn, even turning ugly ducklings into swans, and leave with a swatch library that will inspire you for years to come. If you have ever had a yarn you just couldn't make work visually, bring it along and this class will develop a solution. Laura never met a color she didn't like, and loves the challenge of finding the right combination to make every color sing. Learn the true meaning of Laura's axiom "You don't get Wow! by doing the expected!"
Materials fee: $15 for additional hand-dyed yarns.

This event is also available as part of a combo package which includes this class, 15 hours of classes, Opening Day and Luncheon, Fashion Show and Dinner, and the Student Banquet.
