Use Grafting to Fix Mistakes with Margaret Fisher
If you find a mistake in your knitting, don't immediately rip out rows and rows of your work to get back to a boo-boo. Learn how to cut and remove a "mistake row", then create the correct stitches by grafting. Grafting is a sewing technique that creates a partial or full row of stitches. Learn to cut, remove, and graft stitches in stockinette stitch, garter stitch, 1x1 rib, 2x2 rib, and seed stitch. Class discussion will include grafting other stitch patterns.

Supplies
Homework swatches, yarn used to knit the swatches and several yards of worsted weight yarn in a contrasting color.

Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.

Homework
With smooth, light-colored, #4 (worsted-weight) yarn and appropriate needles, knit five 4" x 4" swatches, one each in stockinette stitch, garter stitch, 1x1 rib, 2x2 rib, seed stitch.
