Socktastic Stitch Patterns with J C Briar
You can use nearly any stitch pattern for ordinary socks, but for fantastic socks, you need stitch patterns that have enough 'give' for a snug but comfy fit, that allow for easy resizing, and that flow seamlessly into coordinated patterns on the cuff, heel, and toe.
Explore Socktastic patterns, learn what makes a pattern shine in hand-painted yarn, and see how to combine basic building blocks to come up with your own Socktastic creations.
Note: Must be comfortable with reading charts.
Favorite sock yarn and appropriate needles, pencil and eraser (graph paper will be supplied by the teacher).
Optional: stitch dictionaries.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
