Applying Ergonomic Techniques to Your Knitting with Carson Demers
Learn the basics of knitting’s ergonomics and the put them into practice in this unique class. You’ll learn everything from neutral postures to optimal tensioning techniques to help you be a comfortable, lifelong knitter. We’ll apply various strategies that can improve your productivity, efficiency and comfort. Working in small groups you’ll examine your yarn tensioning techniques, and all phases of stitch creation first with simple then more challenging swatches and stitches. We’ll also look at ways to add movement to knitting to avoid stiffness and injuries caused by disuse including walking while you knit. Class is appropriate for students who are comfortable with basic knit purl stitches.
Light color worsted-weight yarn, needles appropriate for yarn weight, and a small towel or shawl that can be rolled.
