2-at-a-Time Socks on 2 Circulars Toe-Up with Antje Gillingham
Try a new take on knitting two socks at a time on two circular needles, and work them from the toe up! Take the guess work out of how much yarn you'll need for your socks by trying them on as you go! No more counting rows or stitches and no more single socks in your drawer!
Practice each section of the sock anatomy from toe to cuff during this workshop. We won't be able to knit a complete adult pair in one day, but at the end of our time in class you'll be able to go back to your hotel room, cast on and start working on your very own spectacular pair of completely identical socks at the same time.
Homework; 2 extra balls (each a different color) of light-colored, #4 (worsted-weight) yarn; 3.75mm/US 5 16" and 24" circular needles; point protectors; Post-it notepad.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
Knit 2 tubes which will be used to practice the heel turn. For each, use a different, light-colored, worsted-weight yarn (no cotton/cotton blends) and 3.75mm/US 5 needles of your choice. CO 40 sts and join in the round, being careful not to twist sts. Work k1, p1 rib for 2", then knit all sts until each tube measures 4" from cast-on. DO NOT cut yarn or bind off. Put stitches on a stitch holder.
