2 yds of cotton or muslin fabric, cloth tape measure, pencil, 25 yards each of 10 to 15 coordinating, smooth, #4 (worsted weight) yarns in any fiber; a good pair of scissors (packed in your luggage (not carry on), several small skeins of coordinating novelty, variegated, and textured yarns; 3.75, 4 and 4.5mm/US 5, 6 and 7 short straight or circular needles: various sizes of crochet hooks from E to H; 15-20 safety pins or removable stitch markers; a stitch guide and several colored pencils to match your choice of yarns, 1 current magazine of any kind.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
