Sock Bucket List with Michelle Hunter
Does your knitting Bucket List include magic loop, toe up socks and an afterthought heel? Master all three of these techniques in one class! The magic loop is the slickest way to knit socks using one long circular needle and is preferred by the legion of toe-up sock knitters. The afterthought heel is a great way to add contrasting colored or striped heels. The afterthought heel may be removed after many wearings and reknit — making it a perfect choice for those who tend to wear holes through their heels. Students will create a sample sock using all the skills needed to knit a full size sock.
Two skeins of 50 yards each, smooth, 3 (DK) weight yarn in contrasting colors; one yard smooth waste yarn in similar weight; 32" circular needles in size appropriate to yarn (approx. 4mm/US 6); blunt tip tapestry needle.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
