Pattern Reading for Crocheters with Stacey Trock
Have you learned to crochet from a friend and feel like you 'know how to crochet,' but feel like you 'don't get' patterns? In this class, you'll learn how to read crochet patterns by tackling more difficult stitch patterns gradually, and you'll end up making a fabulous sampler cowl! We'll also discuss things you need to know to make your crochet project a success—like picking the right hook size and yarn weights.
In no time you’ll be crocheting with ease and feel confident picking up a new book to crochet the patterns inside!
At least 2 colors and 100 yds each of #4 (worsted) weight yarn (more colors for more fun!) and appropriate-sized hook (G-I)
Knitting and Crochet Basics
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
Crochet two squares according to the included directions, if you can! If you're a total newbie at pattern-reading, don't worry... you can skip the square, but you'll have more post-homework to do to finish your cowl!
Also, feel free to bring along any tricky patterns.
