Homework, 300 yds of a #4 (medium, worsted weight) yarn with a long print variegation (i.e. Noro silk garden or Kyreon, Poems, Boku or Gina) 4.5mm/US 7 double-pointed needles and 16" circular needles, 8 lockable markers, 2 round sturdy cardboard pieces - each 2" in diameter to make pompoms.Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes. Using 4.5mm/US 7 16" circular needles, and the #4 (worsted weight) yarn, CO 78 sts, place marker and being careful not to twist stitches, close in the round.
Rnd 1: P8, slip a lockable marker through first purled st and a second one through last purled st. There are 6 sts between lockable markers. P32, sl lockable marker through last purled st, p7, sl another lockable marker through last purled st. There are 6 sts between lockable markers, p31. Work a k2, p1 rib for 3 rnds. Next rnd: K2, *YO, k2tog, k1, rep from * to last st, YO, p1 (79 sts) Next Rnd: Work a k2, p1 rib to last 2 sts, p2tog. (78 sts) Work k2, p1 rib for one more rnd. Next Rnd: (K2, p1) twice, k2, sl a lockable marker through first knitted st and another one through last knitted st. There are 6 sts between lockable markers. P1, (k2, p1) 10 times, k1, sl lockable marker through last knitted st, k1, p1, k2, p1, k2, sl, lockable marker through last knitted st. There are 6 sts between lockable markers. P1, (k2, p1) 10 times. Purl 1 rnd and inc 2 sts evenly (80 sts). Do not cut yarn. |
