Color and Weave Sampler Scarf with Deborah Jarchow
Learn to get outstanding color-pattern effects using a rigid heddle loom. Make a sampler scarf that looks like complicated patterns with very little effort. By using two contrasting colors of yarn you can achieve a houndstooth check, color blocks, and more! Some weaving experience is helpful.
Note: Rigid-heddle looms provided for class use.
300 yards each of 2 contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn (think black and white; yarn should be at least 2 ply, smooth, strong and not hairy); 2 brown paper grocery bags, tube from inside a paper towel roll
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
