Designing Crochet Afghans with Stacey Trock
Do you have a handle on single and double crochet and want to stick your toe into the designing pond? Afghans are a fabulous way to get started! In this class, you'll learn a variety of techniques for coming up with your own unique afghan designs. We'll discuss measuring gauge, calculating afghan size, yarn choice considerations, using stitch dictionaries for designs, basic patterns for medallions or blocks, and techniques for assembling and finishing. By the end of this class, you'll have a sketch for your own afghan design...and you won't be able to wait to get started.
Approximately 100 yds of #4 (worsted) weight yarn and an appropriate hook, as well as a few sheets of scrap paper.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
