See Jane Knit, Knit Jane Knit! A primer for learning to read stitches with Denise Bell
In addition to good yarn and good tools, the most important component to
advancing your knitting skills is learning to 'read stitches'. Many knitters know how to execute the stitches beyond knit and purl but struggle with losing their place once they have put a project down and picked it up again.
In this hands-on class, we'll work through a swatch using basic stitches and increases and decreases to learn to see the stitches as they sit on the needle and within the fabric created. We'll also discuss tools that will help keep track of stitches on the needle and when reading charts.
3.75 or 4mm/US 5 or 6 knitting needle and the basics.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
