Simple Shawlette Workshop with Marly Bird
Most knitters have a plethora of sock yarn in their stash and have no plans to make socks out of it! Instead of socks how about a shawlette or shawl? YES! That is a great way to use this often colorful, hand-painted or semi solid yarn that you already have.
Combining two or more different colored yarns can create a fantastic fabric that is eye catching, unique and wonderful to wear. Two or three colors makes even the simplest patterns and stitches so much fun!
You learn three different ways to begin a shawlette or shawl resulting in 3 different shapes that use garter stitch, stockinette stitch and slip stitches. As an extra, Marly will help you choose the perfect border and teach you how to incorporate it into your shawlette customizing your piece for you! This is a project you will want to continue working on when class is over.
