Yarn gauge: Control Your Yarn Supply with Anne Berk
You know how important stitch gauge is to manage the fit and size of a garment. But knowing your Yarn Gauge (how many inches you need per stitch) allows you to measure out the correct amount of yarn for your needs. In class you will learn how to do the easy swatch needed for measurement and calculation. You will measure out and knit an intarsia project with the correct amount of yarn for every color used.
Smooth, #4 (worsted) weight yarn in 3 contrasting colors and at least 2 different needles sizes (US 6-9 US are recommended) and a calculator (phone app is fine). Note: We will be knitting flat, so long dpn’s or straight needles are recommended, if available.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
