Fibonacci numbers describe a mathematical sequence that occurs repeatedly in nature. This relationship is particularly pleasing to the eye, and artists and designers have used these numbers throughout civilization. Learn the history while you explore this fascinating tool for designing rows of color for stripes, blocks, and perfect shading. Learn a method for controlling color combinations, and participate in hands-on swatching with fun yarns and colors. Swatching can be done in knit or crochet.
Optional materials fee: $3 for assorted fashion yarns.
Approximately 1 oz each of 2-4 colors of compatible yarns that knit at a gauge of 4 1/2 or 5 sts/inch, 2 or 3 sizes of needles ranging in size from 3.75mm/US 5 to 8mm/US 11.

Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
