Patty's Knitting Bag of Tricks with Patty Lyons
There are so many knitting tricks that make our lives better. Over the years of knitting and teaching I've accumulated quite a few fantastic ones. I love it when I'm teaching a class and a student declares 'I love that tip!' So, I've decided to dig into my knitting bag of tricks and put them all in one class. From how to do a better SSK, make matching size YO's, avoid the gap at the end of a bind-off, tighten your first stitch, make better neck divides, and more...get ready to find your new favorite knitting tricks!
Note: Must know how to cast on, bind off, and work basic increases
and decrease as well as having completed one project by following a
_Worsted or chunky light weight yarn
_ Small separate ball of yarn
_Small amount of thin crochet cotton
_Needles appropriate for yarn
_Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
Swatch 1 Cast on 28. Row 1 [*K3, p2] * to last 3 stitches, k3. Row 2 [*P3, k2] * to last 3 stitches, p3. Repeat Rows 1 - 2 for 2 ". Do not bind off; we will be working this swatch.
Swatch 2 Cast on 24. Work 2" in plain stockinette (NO GARTER EDGE), enough to get a sense of your knitting style. Do not bind off; we will be working this swatch.
