Knitting with Heart with Melissa Leapman
Everyone knows that knitters put love into every stitch! In this hands-on workshop, explore stitch patterns such as embossed heart motifs and the familiar cancer awareness ribbon that allow you to wear your heart on your sleeve. (Or on your afghan. )

Supplies
Three homework swatches with yarn still attached; extra smooth worsted weight yarn, approximately 20 yds; size US7 knitting needles; two size 5 double-pointed needles; two stitch markers; scissors.

Homework
3 swatches as follows:
Swatch 1 With smooth, light-colored, worsted weight yarn and  US 7 or  8 needles, cast on 18 sts. Work K1, P1 Rib for 1". Work 1" of stockinette stitch, ending after a purl row. Slip sts onto holder, leaving approximately 15 yds of yarn attached.
Swatch 2 With smooth, light-colored, worsted weight yarn and size US 7 or 8 needles, cast on 21 sts. Work K1, P1 Rib for 1". Work 1" of stockinette stitch, ending after a knit row. Slip sts onto holder, leaving approximately 15 yds of yarn attached.
Swatch 3 With smooth, light-colored, worsted weight yarn and size US 7 or 8 needles, cast on 21 sts. Work K1, P1 Rib for 1". Work 1" of stockinette stitch, ending after a knit row. Slip sts onto holder, leaving approximately 15 yds of yarn attached.
