Knotty Scarflet with Sivia Harding
This small asymmetrical necklet is not as simplistic as it seems. An addictively easy lace pattern provides the basis for bias shaping, and a scalloped border adds charm. You are done in a flash. knot up a corner and you’re on your way, or incorporate a beautiful button for a different look. The crochet hook add-as-you-go bead method is introduced as an ideal embellishment for lace, and we discuss choosing the perfect bead for your project along with other fine points of this versatile technique. A fastastic first lace project, and an engaging class for all levels.

At least 150 yds of DK or light worsted weight yarn; 4mm/US 6 circular needle at least 24" long or pair of straights; approximately 60 size 5/0 or 6/0 seed beads; 0.7mm/US 14 steel crochet hook or small enough to fit through the hole of your bead with room to spare; at least 11 stitch markers; highlighter tape, post it notes, or magnetic chartkeeper for keeping track of your place
Optional: Large button

Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.

Please string or hook a few beads onto your yarn before class to make sure they will easily fit over a doubled strand of yarn without forcing.
