FAB Foundations for Crocheters with Shannon & Jason Mullett-Bowlsby
You've picked the PERFECT pattern and you've searched for and picked out the PERFECT yarn (not necessarily in that order!). Now your fingers and hook are twitching and you are ready to dive in!

STOP!! Before you make that first stitch, let us share with you a few basics that will get you started on a solid foundation that will make sure your work is just as PERFECT as the choices you've made up to this point.

We will cover 4 types of Foundation Stitches and explore how to use them in a wide range of projects from garments to accessories and home décor. Foundation stitches aren't just for borders anymore! Innovative project construction is easier than ever once you learn how to use Foundation Stitches then move on to using the Extending Foundation Stitch for creating garment sleeves and armholes, for making easier than ever button bands that don't gap and sag, and for creating innovative shaping in your accessories and garments. We'll also get into our special techniques for the Knotless Starting Chain and some First-Stitches that will make sure your edges do not look wonky! You will leave class with a FAB new skill to experiment with in your own projects and which will change the way you crochet forever!

Topics include learning four different foundation stitches and how to use them in projects; using Extending Foundation Stitches in innovative ways for sleeves, armholes, button bands, and learning to use Extending Foundation Stitches to create fun new shapes in your projects.

Note: Must know how to make basic crochet stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet.
